Joe P in Green Bay, Wisconsin asks, “Do you know of a site that recommends some different protein skimmers?”
Saltwater Fish Tank recommends a promotional site that outlines a few different protein skimmers. Hopefully this is useful for hobbyists setting up their first aquarium or upgrading to a larger one.

I have a 30 gal cube. I have corals in it. but they are very slow growing. I have 250 mh lights and a refugium. I have mushooms and zoos. I hear they should grow very fast. What should I feed them? To make them grow faster. I change water every week.
Response:
You are in a unique situation. Like you said, most people can get zoanthids and mushrooms to grow like wild fire. I also happen to be in the same boat that you are. The reason why most people are able to get their soft corals to grow like weeds is because they have extra nutrients in the water that the corals are feeding on. I struggle to make leathers, xenia, zoas and mushrooms grow without feeding them. An excellent all around food is Cyclop-eeze or any knock off version of the food (they are all pretty much the same).
So in short, your corals aren’t growing because your water is “too clean,” but your water is more suitable for LPS and SPS corals which prefer cleaner water.
